Umang Chaturvedi is a seasoned professional, with around three decades of experience, encompassing Agrochemical, Textile, Healthcare and Pharmaceutical industries, Umang has had the privilege of spearheading the External Policy/Corporate Affairs function at Group and Global levels in large organizations which are leaders in their respective field. Led Corporate Affairs function globally for Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd and SUN Pharma and was the Group President Corporate Affairs in the Group which has companies like Fortis Healthcare (second largest hospital chain in India), SRL Diagnostics (largest in India, second largest in Asia), Religare, Fortis Healthworld etc. Adept in the areas of Corporate Policy, Public Affairs & Public Policy and Strategic Planning, he has worked closely with the important Ministries, Government Bodies, Industry Associations, Chambers and Civil Society Groups.
Umang has been the Chairman of Healthcare and Diagnostics Committee of Associated Chambers of Commerce of India (ASSOCHAM) and Co-Chair of Pharmaceutical Committee of ASSOCHAM, Member Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Committees of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Member Services Council of CII and Member Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Committee of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Member of Swastha Bharat Task Force (Healthy India Task Force) of FICCI. He has worked closely with the India-Africa Business Council of the Government of India. Has headed the sub group on Investment and FDI, formed by the Ministry of Health and Niti Aayog, at the behest of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) to design the road map for augmenting Medical Education Infrastructure of India with a focus on primary healthcare, by creating more Medical Colleges through PPPs. Has partnered with the Government of India to formulate policies for PPPs in Diagnostics, Medical Education, NCDs and also for creating a conducive eco system and a roadmap for driving Medical Value Travel (MVT) in India. Has played a significant role in getting MVT included as a part of the Brand India Campaign of the Government of India. Umang has represented Indian Healthcare and Pharma in various International Forums like African Health Minister’s Conclave in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), and was part of Government’s delegation to Romania and Industry’s delegation during the visit of the Prime Minister of India, to African nations in 2016.
